TextCut provides a macOS app for importing videos, generating transcripts, and using AI-assisted analysis to help identify filler words, pauses, and other editable speech segments.
Operator: TextCut

1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you sign in with Apple, we receive and store the Apple account identifier used to authenticate your TextCut account. If Apple provides your email address or name during sign-in, we may store that information for account support, account recovery, and subscription-related service functions.
Subscription and purchase information
TextCut uses Apple App Store purchases and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, entitlements, usage allowances, renewals, cancellations, billing issues, refunds, and related subscription status. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
Video, audio, transcript, and analysis content
TextCut may process the video, extracted audio, transcript text, timing data, and AI analysis results that you choose to import or generate in the app.
- Local transcription without cloud AI analysis: audio, transcript text, and AI decisions remain on your Mac.
- Local transcription with cloud AI analysis: audio is not uploaded, but transcript text and timing information are sent to TextCut Cloud for AI analysis.
- Cloud high-accuracy transcription: audio is uploaded to TextCut Cloud for speech recognition, and the resulting transcript may also be used for AI analysis if cloud AI analysis is enabled.
Usage, diagnostics, and security data
We may collect limited technical data such as request timestamps, job status, duration, usage credits, provider identifiers, rate limits, error categories, device or app version, and security logs. We design our logs to avoid recording audio, transcript content, prompts, signed URLs, API keys, identity tokens, or other secrets.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to provide transcription, AI analysis, export, account, and subscription features; authenticate users; calculate usage; process cloud jobs; prevent abuse; maintain TextCut; respond to support requests; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Cloud Processing and Third-Party AI Providers
TextCut offers cloud features that use third-party model and infrastructure providers. These providers may process your content only as needed to provide the requested feature, subject to their own terms, privacy policies, data-processing terms, and retention rules.
Cloud speech recognition
If you use cloud high-accuracy transcription, TextCut may send audio, video-derived audio, related metadata, and transcription job data to third-party speech recognition or large-model providers, including OpenAI, Google, BytePlus, and similar providers we may add or replace over time.
Cloud AI analysis
If you use cloud AI analysis, TextCut may send transcript text, timestamps, segment identifiers, editing context, and analysis prompts to third-party large-model providers for analysis, including OpenAI, Google, AWS, BytePlus, Qwen.ai, and similar providers we may add or replace over time.
AI analysis may be used to identify likely filler words, pauses, repeated speech, low-value segments, or other editing suggestions. AI output can be inaccurate. You should review analysis results before relying on them.
Infrastructure providers
TextCut may use cloud infrastructure providers such as Cloudflare to host APIs, store temporary uploaded media, route requests, run server-side workflows, protect the service, and delete temporary files after processing.
4. Storage and Retention
TextCut is designed to keep your local projects on your Mac unless you choose a cloud feature. For cloud transcription, uploaded media and generated results are stored temporarily to complete the job and deliver the result to your app. We aim to delete temporary media and result files after processing, after your app confirms receipt, after cancellation, or through scheduled cleanup if the normal deletion path does not complete.
We may retain account, subscription, usage, entitlement, security, and diagnostic records for as long as needed to operate TextCut, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and prevent abuse.
5. Sharing Information
We may share information with AI and speech recognition providers, infrastructure and storage providers, subscription and entitlement providers such as Apple and RevenueCat, professional service providers, and authorities when required by law or necessary to protect users, TextCut, or others. We do not share your content with advertisers.
6. International Processing
TextCut and its providers may process information in countries or regions other than where you live. Privacy laws in those places may differ from the laws in your country or region.
7. Your Choices and Rights
You can choose local processing modes when available to reduce or avoid cloud processing. Some features, including cloud high-accuracy transcription and cloud AI analysis, require sending content to TextCut Cloud and third-party providers. You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information by using the support contact listed on the App Store product page.
Deleting your cloud account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. Manage subscription cancellation through your Apple ID subscription settings.
8. Children
TextCut is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum age required by applicable law in your region. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including secure transport, authentication, limited access, secret handling, and logging practices intended to avoid sensitive content. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as updating the app, website, or policy date.
